Indie-pop singer-songwriter Marilyn Hucek has released her highly anticipated self-titled debut album, MARILYN, a deeply personal exploration of womanhood, identity, and resilience. Written between Nashville and Los Angeles, the record invites listeners into an unfiltered portrait of her life, touching on love, grief, societal pressures, and the defining choices that shape a woman’s journey.

MARILYN is a ‘me’ project. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s vulnerable. I’ve never felt so honest in my songwriting. Music has never been so healing,” she reflects. If my songs can help even one person heal, then I’ve done my job.”

Opening with the road trip-inspired “I Made It,” Marilyn captures the optimism of forging your own path. That sense of freedom deepens into the vulnerability of “Naked,” a meditation on holding onto yourself in unfamiliar places and the ache of long-distance love. In “Love to Hate You", she exposes jealousy and obsession with startling honesty, before "Pressure Makes Diamonds” and "To Be or Not To Be” confront societal pressures around marriage and motherhood. A lighter turn comes with “Rebound,” a playful yet self-aware look at rekindling an old flame, while “Me Salvaste el Alma" is a Spanish-language love song inspired by her Chilean roots, and showcases her multicultural artistry. The album closes with “Neil Young,” its emotional centerpiece, written for Marilyn’s late father, who battled Alzheimer’s disease. 5% of the single’s streaming royalties will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

Produced by Hana Elion, Daniel Tayra, Philip Silverberg, and Rachel Caridi, and written alongside Katie Campbell, Edward Hand, Chris Rizzo, and Benjamin Wagner, MARILYN blends organic instrumentation with modern pop sensibilities. Mixed by Thomas Warren, with vocal engineering from Mikey G and mastering by Jack Kennedy, the album captures Marilyn at her most authentic. She’s raw, real, and ready to connect.
